Wonder Woman Begins Production, Image released, and Cast Announced. Principal photography on Wonder Woman (2017) has begun and will take place in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy. Patty Jenkins is directing the film for Warner Bros. Following her first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016, Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman when Wonder Woman is released on June 23, 2017. Joining Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman will be Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis.
