Passengers Trailer, Clips, and TV Spots

Sony Pictures has released the second movie trailer, two movie clips, and two movie TV commercials Passengers (2016). The released material does a lot when it comes to selling this film. It would seem that the population of Earth isn’t causally colonizing another planet in their solar system. It’s a migration. That would mean that something is wrong with Earth: over-population, pollution, growing lack of natural resources, or a combination of all three.

The movie clips show that Passengers, in a way, will be like Die Hard i.e. once one problem is solved on-board the ship another one will present itself.

Passengers‘ plot synopsis: “Passengers centers on Jim Preston (Pratt), a mechanic on a 120-year journey to a distant colonized planet in another galaxy, who becomes the first traveler to experience pod hibernation failure.

Having woken up 100 years too soon, he is stranded in the world of an interstellar spaceship with only robots and androids for companionship. A year into his journey, he decides to wake up a fellow passenger, a beautiful journalist named Aurora (Lawrence). They fall in love but must soon deal not only with the revelation of Jim’s misjudged act of waking her but a major malfunction of the ship itself.”

Morten Tyldum‘s Passengers also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Sheen, Aurora Perrineau, Kimberly Battista, Jamie Soricelli, Shelby Taylor Mullins, Julee Cerda, Kristin Brock, Marie Burke, Vince Foster, Kevin Tan, Robert Larriviere, and Stephen M. LaBar Jr.
