PREACHER: Creator Garth Ennis Offers Reaction to First Footage [AMC]

Dominic Cooper Preacher Trailer

Garth Ennis Gives Input on First Trailer from AMC’s Preacher. Viewers had their first look at AMC’s upcoming adaptation of Preacher last Sunday with positive feedback. Even creator Garth Ennis gave the first footage a big thumbs up and has given his approval to the series.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, the comic book writer shared his first thoughts on watching the trailer, which featured Dominic Cooper in the lead role of Jesse Custer. He had nothing but good things to say about Dominic’s take on the character as well as Joseph Gilgun’s turn as Irish vampire Cassidy. Here’s what he had to say:

I never really look at that sort of stuff (stuff meaning online fan response) because it’s not my department, but I’m told lots of people are talking about the trailer- so great news for the guys pushing the show. I did hear that Amazon sold out of book one, which is great (so long as they had more than half a dozen copies in stock).  I’m delighted with[the first trailer]. I like Jesse’s grim dialogue taking you through it, and his explosion into violence. And Cassidy’s little moment at the end is the icing on the cake…I’ve seen the pilot, which I think is excellent – the trailer hits just the right note. The thought of watching each episode as it’s completed, seeing what they’ve done with the story. They’ve added a good deal to the basic plot of Preacher, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the results.

The series is set to premiere in mid-2016. With Garth’s approval, has his word made you curious to check out the upcoming series?
