ROBOCOP (2013): Hugh Laurie cast in José Padilha Film

Hugh Laurie cast in Robocop. The casting of Hugh Laurie in Jose Padilha‘s RoboCop (2013) answers the question of who will play the main villain in the remake. Hugh Laurie will play the role of the “villainous Omni Corp CEO, which creates the title character for its own gain”.

On Hugh Laurie:

Laurie received seven Emmy nominations for his perf as the title character on Fox’s long-running hit series “House,” which also earned him a pair of Golden Globes. His bigscreen credits include “Sense and Sensibility” and “Street Kings.”

On the production of RoboCop: the

Robocop’ remake will begin shooting in Toronto around September…Strike Entertainment partners Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing the pic…Padilha is directing Robocop from a script originally written by Josh Zetumer, with more recent drafts by Nick Scheck and James Vanderbilt.

RoboCop‘s plot synopsis: “In a crime-ridden city, a fatally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him.”

Robocop also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, and Abbie Cornish.
