Hilary Clinton Rosemarys Baby

New NBC Rosemary’s Baby, Hilary Clinton,Tommyknockers Miniseries. NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt announced at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today the development of a new mini-series based on the 1968 motion picture, ROSEMARY’S BABY. The Rosemary’s Baby mini-series is set air in four one-hour installments. The new version will take place  in Paris and comes from Lionsgate, with Scott Abbott (“Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”) writing and Joshua Maurer, David Stern, Perri Kipperman, and Alix Witlin serving as executive producers. The mini-series will focus more on the edge-of-your-seat thriller elements of the acclaimed story.

The psychological thriller ROSEMARY’S BABY was written and directed by Roman Polanski (THE PIANIST (2002), OLIVER TWIST (2005), THE GHOST WRITER (2010), CARNAGE (2011) and was based on the bestselling 1967 novel Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin (DEATHRAP (play), THE STEPFORD WIVES (novel), THE PERFECT DAY (novel).) The adapted motion picture explores devil worship and the complex relationship between a young husband and wife, famously portrayed by Mia Farrow. No major casting updates have been released.

Greenblatt also announced a four-hour miniseries based on former first lady Hilary Clinton’s life. Starring Diane Lane, the miniseries has yet to cast an actor to play former president Bill Clinton. The Hollywood Reporter notes that while the former secretary of state may likely announce her candidacy for president, Greenblatt noted the mini will probably air before then – avoiding concerns about her equal air time for Republican challengers in the future.

Hilary will be written and directed by Courtney Hunt. Hunt is best known for FROZEN RIVER (2008), a film that received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The miniseries will focus on Clinton’s role as a wife, mother, politician and cabinet member, spanning nearly twenty years to the present. Other miniseries ordered by NBC include TOMMYKNOCKERS, based on the 1987 novel by Stephen King, limited series PLYMOUTH by Mark Burnett.
