Spider-Man Animated

Phil Lord and Chris Miller Making an Animated Spider-Man Film for Sony. It looks like we may be seeing Spider-Man in more ways than one as Sony Pictures announced that The Lego Movies Phil Lord and Chris Miller would be directing an animated Spider-Man film.

According to a press release (via ComicBook.com) from Sony Pictures, the animated Spider-Man will exist in an independent universe, and will run alongside with their live-action version for Marvel Studios. Sony chairman Tom Rothman gave the news over at CinemaCon this week saying, “the film will explore the graphic roots of the character and co-exist with our live-action entries.” He also pretty much confirmed that a new teenage Spidey will be making his debut in the MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
