SOUTHPAW (2015) Movie Trailer 3: Kings Never Die

Southpaw Trailer 3

Southpaw Trailer 3. Antoine Fuqua‘s Southpaw (2015) movie trailer 3 stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Forest Whitaker. Southpaw‘s plot synopsis: “A boxer fights his way to the top, only to find his life falling apart around him.”

A new trailer for the boxing movie that’s got everybody excited for another Jake Gyllenhaal performance has been released. This one heavily weaves the new Eminem track “Kings Never Die” into its thematic structure, is edited to the beat at times, and makes complete sense regarding the story-arc of the film. Our previous Southpaw posts have gone into depth as to why Eminem is a great choice for soundtrack duties – in short: he was attached to star at one point, his life mirrors this story in several ways (fame, drugs, loss, redemption), he has a fighter’s spirit.

In any case, take a look at this latest trailer. The entire story has already been spoiled anyway. Couldn’t hurt to look at some more footage.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
