SUPERGIRL: Show in Search of Superman

Supergirl Superman

Supergirl Looking to Cast It’s Own Superman. It seems that Kara will be getting a visit from her cousin on her show. With his existence being teased in the show’s official synopsis, Superman will be making an appearance in some form in the pilot of the upcoming CBS series Supergirl.

TVLine first reported the news that casting is now underway for someone who is 5’11 or taller, “square-jawed”, and has “a ripped physique” to play the body double for “a DC Comic Superhero.” The casting call was made on ProjectCasting.com with interested applicants to put “SUPERMAN” in the subject line when they email their application.

This casting may suggest that the Man of Steel will only be seen from a distance, partially obstructed, or in less focus. This probably is due to the show avoiding any conflicts with the big screen version in the DCU being played by Henry Cavill.

CBS’ Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist in the title role, while Mehcad Brooks, Laura Benanti, and Calista Flockhart were cast as Jimmy Olson, Kara’s mother Alura, and Cat Grant.
