TAKEN 2 (2013): Maggie Grace reprises TAKEN role in Sequel

Maggia Grace, Golden Globes 2005, 02

Maggie Grace will reprise her Taken role in its sequel Taken 2 (2013). The Luc Besson produced film will be directed by Olivier Megaton and distributed by FilmDistrict for Besson’s EuropaCorp. I would have liked to have seen Pierre Morel, the director of Taken (2008), return to the director’s chair again. There is no word yet on what the plot of the film will be but more than a few hope that it will not involve Maggie Grace’s character being kidnapped again. Count me amongst them. No one wants to see a re-hash of the same plot again.

Here is an interesting idea for the sequel that I doubt will ever happen.

if we were to offer producer Luc Besson and director Oliver Megaton an idea, it would be great if she [Maggie Grace] were tasked with rescuing her father this time (Liam Neeson).

Maggie Grace is set to be kidnapped again in the sci-fi Luc Besson produced film, entitled Lockout, with Guy Pierce as well as appearing in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. I do not know how I feel about a sequel to Taken (which we reviewed here: Taken (2008) Film Review). Feels a bit like Die Hard 2 all over again with Bruce Willis and the cast from the first Die Hard returning. What do you think the possible plot for Taken 2 will be?
