THE BATMAN: Matt Reeves To Take Over as Director

Matt Reeves The Batman

Matt Reeves Chosen to Direct The Batman

With Ben Affleck out of the director’s chair, The Batman may have just found its replacement in Matt Reeves. It’s been confirmed that Warner Bros. has just offered the Cloverfield director an offer to helm the upcoming film based on the Dark Knight being played by Affleck.

Variety reported that the studio has been eyeing Matt Reeves as a possible replacement for Ben Affleck as director since the actor decided to step down from his directing duties for the new take on Batman. It’s now been confirmed that Reeves will indeed be directing the new DC film. Sources told the site that Reeves is already committed to directing The Batman, even though a deal hasn’t been set yet. Matt has been on the top of the list of filmmakers to take over directing the film, but others are also being considered.

Affleck still has a big role for the direction of the movie, as he will be writing the script with DC Entertainment CEO Geoff Johns. The actor will now be focusing his energy on giving his best performance for the film. Matt has had a successful career as a director, earning accolades for his films Cloverfield and Let Me In. He gained even more success with his film with Dawn of Planet of the Apes. The director’s next film, War of the Planet of the Apes is being released later this summer.
