The new season will see the Queen entering the contentious era of the late 1970s and early ’80s, where a new anti-monarchy movement was on the rise. The new season will also chronicle the era of Lady Diana Spencer, portrayed by up-and-coming British actress Emma Corrin (Pennyworth, Misbehaviour).

Gillian Anderson (X-Files, Sex Education) has also joined the cast of Season 4. She portrays Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
