THE FLASH: Reverse-Flash Appearing in Season Two is Not From Earth-2 [The CW]

Matt Letscher Reverse Flash The Flash

Reverse-Flash Appearing in The Flash’s Second Season Isn’t From Earth-2. Season two of The Flash is bringing back Matt Letscher as the Reverse-Flash, but fans have been theorizing that this may be the Earth-2 version. It turns out this one is the same one from the first season…sort of.

The Reverse-Flash will be making his return to The Flash during the second season’s 11th episode ‘The Reverse-Flash Returns’. When news broke about the supervillain’s return, fans thought that this would be an alternate version of the character as many of the villains are coming from Earth-2. However, EP Andrew Kreisberg spoke with EW debunking that theory, saying that this would be the same villain from season one from another timeline. Here’s what he said:

Time on our show does not unfold linearly.  Sometimes you’ve seen events from one direction and then you start to see them from the other. This Reverse-Flash is not exactly the Reverse-Flash that we saw disintegrate at the end of the year. It’s a Reverse-Flash from an earlier timeline. It’s not the Earth-Two Reverse-Flash, it’s the Reverse-Flash. That is, hands down, one of our best episodes.

So how will the Reverse-Flash return from an earlier timeline? I guess we will find out once the episode airs. What are your theories on this?
