The Past‘s plot synopsis: “After four years of separation, Ahmad (Ali Mosaffa) arrives in Paris from Tehran, at the request of Marie (Bérénice Bejo), his French wife, to carry out the formalities of their divorce. During his brief stay, Ahmad discovers the adversarial relationship that Mary has with her daughter, Lucia (Pauline Burlet). Ahmad’s efforts to try to improve this relationship will unveil a secret past.”
