THE WALKING DEAD: Daryl’s Sexuality Revealed and a New Gay Character

Daryl Dixon The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Creator Reveals Daryl’s Sexuality. So it’s finally official, The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon is more of a ladies man. Series creator Robert Kirkman finally put the rumors to rest about Daryl’s sexuality when he spoke at Talking Dead saying that he is straight.

Following the mid-season finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman made an appearance on Talking Dead and addressed that Norman Reedus character isn’t gay. “In the letter column of the comic book that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon’s character gay,” Kirkman explained. “I just wanted to clarify that the possibility is there and that I would have been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it — but we ultimately didn’t do that. I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is straight.”

Daryl’s sexuality has been a growing concern for fans of the show, but at least fans of both Daryl and Carol can rest easy.

With Daryl’s sexuality finally revealed, Kirkman also gave news about adding an important gay character from the comics onto the second half of the show’s fifth season. Any ideas on who it will be? Our only guess is on Aaron, an occupant of the Alexandria Safe-Zone who becomes an ally to Rick and his group.
