The first season of True Blood creator’s new series Banshee hits the shelves today. Banshee chronicles con-man Lucas Hood’s assumption of the identity of the town sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania. Lucas comes to town to find his former lover and partner in crime, Ana, who is also hiding her former identity –and $10 million in stolen diamonds. Banshee‘s anti-hero has more twists and turns than Twin Peaks in this engaging small town-collides-with-organized crime drama. Cinemax‘s original drama is available on Blu-ray (Blu-ray+Digital Copy+UltraViolet Copy, SRP $49.99) and DVD (5-disc set, SRP $39.98) today.

Paramount Pictures releases two gems for Trekkies today: The Next Generation, Season 4 and The Next Generation, Redemption. Season 4, which ran from 1990-1991, provides 1180 minutes spread over multiple discs. Supplemental material includes audio commentary and archival mission logs such as resolving the season three cliffhanger (“The Best of Both Worlds”), character development, location scouting, alien design, production, set and make-up design, a gag reel, and deleted scenes, amongst others. The Blu-ray set consists of six discs for $129.99, while the DVD set has seven discs for $69.98.

In Redemption, the 87 minute cliffhanger connecting seasons 4 and 5, Captain Jean Luc Picard journeys to a ceremony in the Klingon Empire. The U.S.S. Enterprise is intercepted by a Klingon ship bearing Gowron, the intended guest of honor. Pi card and Lt. Worf fight to bring an end to the Klingon War and to redeem the Worf family name.
