50 States of Fright

Rachel Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel, Christina Ricci, Jacob Batalon, Ming-Na Wen, Taissa Farmiga, Asa Butterfield, John Marshall Jones, and Ron Livingston have all been cast in unspecified roles.

50 States of Fright‘s plot synopsis: the series “explores the human condition through warped perspectives…[it] will explore stories based on urban legends from Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, and Washington, taking viewers deeper into the horrors that lurk just beneath the surface of our country.”

The episodes each actor will appear:

Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and John Marshall Jones (The Last Revolutionary) are set to star in “The Golden Arm” episode based on a famous urban legend out of Michigan, co-written by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Army of Darkness, The Evil Dead) and Ivan Raimi (Army of Darkness, Drag Me to Hell, Darkman) and directed by Sam Raimi.

Christina Ricci (Monster) and Jacob Batalon (Spiderman: Homecoming, Spiderman: Far From Home) will play lead roles in the “Red Rum” episode, which follows the storyline of Colorado’s scariest story.

Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Mandalorian) is signed on to star in “America’s Largest Ball of Twine,” based on Kansas myth.

Taissa Farmiga (The Nun, American Horror Story) and Ron Livingston (A Million Little Things) are set to co-star in “Almost There,” Iowa’s frightening folklore, which will be written and directed by Iowa natives Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place, Haunt).

Asa Butterfield (Sex Education, Hugo) is cast as the male lead in “Grey Cloud Island” a chilling tale from Minnesota.

Bernadette Peters has been cast as Ms. Freesia, “Pepper Smith’s eccentrically elegant surrogate mother and mentor [who] taught Pepper in the art of the con. Ms. Freesia [is] a wealthy Upper East sider who secured her luxurious lifestyle through cunning means and is actively forming Pepper in her fabulous image.”

This actress joins already cast Jonny Beauchamp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Julia Chan, and Ashleigh Murray.

Katy Keene‘s plot synopsis: “In Katy Keene, the 20-something Josie McCoy has left the small town of Riverdale in pursuit of a new adventure in the Big City. More determined than ever to break into the music scene as the next Diana Ross, Josie finds herself forging new friendships, falling into new relationships, and, one day, becoming the star she is destined to be.”

Robert Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi wrote the screenplay for the Maggie Kiley-directed pilot episode.

Katy Keene will premiere in the mid-season of 2020.

Crisis on Infinite Earths – Arrowverse Annual Crossover (Arrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow)

Osric Chau has been cast as Ryan Choi, “a physics professor at Ivy Town University [and] normal guy who learns that he has a pivotal role to play in the coming crisis on infinite earths.”

This actor joins already cast: Tom Welling, Erica Durance, and John Wesley Shipp.

HBO Max

Punky Brewster

Cherie Johnson will reprise her role as Cherie, Punky Brewster’s best friend, in the revival TV series.

This actress joins already cast Soleil Moon Frye.

Punky Brewster‘s plot synopsis: “In the sequel, Punky is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self.”

Fox

Opus

Nicole Ari Parker has been cast as Willie Mae Gray, “Europe’s most celebrated and only African American conductor”.

Opus‘ plot synopsis: “in Opus, classical and urban music will clash when Willie Mae Gray (Parker), Europe’s most celebrated and only African American conductor, suddenly returns to Baltimore to reinvent her hometown’s crumbling symphony orchestra, while attempting to rebuild the relationship with her teenage son, an underground MC on the rise.”

Felicia D. Henderson wrote the screenplays for the TV series.
