Yelllowstone, P-Town, Arrowverse, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on: DC Universe, Paramount Network, ABC, Fox, Epix, The CW, YouTube Premium, and Netflix. Beware of spoilers in these casting announcements.

Yellowstone (Paramount Network)

Neal McDonough has been cast as Malcolm Beck, “a wealthy business mogul who runs an area casino with his brother, Teal. They are power players, down and dirty fighters who know how to work the system to get what they want.”

Arrowverse – The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl (The CW)

Cassandra Jean Amell has been cast as Nora Fries, a supervillain and the wife of Mr. Freeze.

Elizabeth Tulloch has been cast as Lois Lane.

The Arrowverse dates are: The Flash on December 9, 2018, Arrow on December 10, 2018, and Supergirl on December 11, 2018.

Gotham (Fox)

Shane West has been cast as Eduardo Dorrance, “an old friend of Jim Gordon who comes back to Gotham City with an elite team of soldiers tasked with cleaning up the town, only to reveal he has a dark, ulterior motive which could spell doom for the city.”

This actor joins already cast: Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, David Mazouz, Morena Baccarin, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith, Jessica Lucas, Chris Chalk, Drew Powell, Alexander Siddig, and Crystal Reed.

Gotham: Season 5 will begin airing on Fox in January 2019.

Swamp Thing (DC Universe)

Derek Mears has been cast as Swamp Thing, in creature form, but may not portraying the human form of the character, who was Dr. Alec Holland.

This actor joins already cast: Crystal Reed and Maria Sten.

Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman will write the screenplays for the series.

Len Wiseman will direct the pilot episode.

The TV series will premiere in 2019.

gen:LOCK (First)

Maisie Williams has been cast as Cammie MacCloud, “a mischievous hacker and the youngest recruit in the mysterious “gen:LOCK” program.”

This actress joins already cast: Michael B. Jordan, David Tennant, Dakota Fanning, Lindsay Jones, Miles Luna, Blaine Gibson, and Chad James.

gen:LOCK will premiere January 2019 on Rooster Teeth’s FIRST.

All American (The CW)

Jay Reeves has been cast as Shawn Scott, “a charismatic gang member and Spencer Paysinger’s former childhood friend.”

This actor joins already cast Daniel Ezra.

All American‘s plot synopsis: “It centers on Spencer (Daniel Ezra) a rising high school football player from South L.A. When he is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, the wins, losses and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds — Compton and Beverly Hills — begin to collide.”

The Conners (ABC)

Maya Lynne Robinson has been cast as Geena Williams-Conner, “DJ’s (Fishman) wife and Mary’s (Rey) mother, who returns home from active duty overseas in Afghanistan.”

P-Town (Starz)

Monica Raymund has been cast as Jackie Quinones, “a lesbian National Marine Fisheries Services officer, happy to use her gun and badge to pick up tourist chicks in “P-Town” — the gay mecca of Provincetown, MA. But when she finds a body washed up on the beach — collateral damage of the opioid epidemic – Jackie’s life begins to circle the drain. As she faces her own addictive behaviors, she becomes increasingly obsessed with solving the murder. Jackie’s forced to confront the dark side of the idyllic summer spot – all the while putting herself and her sobriety in danger.”

Rebecca Cutter wrote the screenplays for the series.

On Becoming A God In Central Florida (YouTube Premium)

Ted Levine has been cast as “the charismatic leader of the pyramid-scheme who has cult-like status.”

Mel Rodriguez has been cast as “the manager of the low-rent waterpark where Krystal Gill works.”

Beth Ditto has been cast as the wife of Mel Rodriguez’s character.

Usman Ally has been cast as “the waterpark’s penny-pinching owner.”

On Becoming A God In Central Florida‘s plot synopsis: “Set near Orlando in the early 1990s, it centers on Krystal Gill (Dunst), a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who will eventually scheme her way up the ranks of the Founders American Merchandise, the cultish, flag waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin.”

Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky wrote the screenplays for the Charlie McDowell-directed series.

L.A.’s Finest (NBC)

Barry Sloane has been cast as Dante, “the younger brother of bad guy Ray Sherman (Zach McGowan), with whom he shares a criminal past. Although he is an ex-con trying to turn things around, his big brother keeps getting the two of them mixed up with some dangerous criminals, pulling Dante back into his old, illicit life.”

The actor joins already cast: Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Ernie Hudson, Zack Gilford, Duane Martin, and Ryan McPartlin.

L.A.’s Finest‘s plot synopsis: “It follows Burnett (Union), who last was seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel. She now has left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom with an equally complex past, Burnett is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. These two women don’t agree on much, but they find common ground when it comes to taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles.”

Anton Cropper directed the pilot episode.

Cursed (Netflix)

Katherine Langford has been cast as Nimue, “a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.”

Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller who wrote the book the film is based on, will also be writing the screenplay for the film adaptation.

Netflix has given the project a 10-episode order, which will be executive produced by creators Miller and Wheeler.

The Act (Hulu)

Chloë Sevigny has been cast as Mel, the “leader of the women in her small neighborhood and a sympathizer for what Dee Dee’s gone through, but is thrown when she sees a different side of her.”

AnnaSophia Robb has been cast as Lacey, “Mel’s daughter who is a popular girl like her mom, only she’s an idealist and finds herself taken with Gypsy and Dee Dee, heading to their house to help out.”

This actress joins already cast Patricia Arquette and Joey King.

The Act’s plot synopsis: an anthology series that “tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories.”

Nick Antosca and Michelle Dean wrote the screenplays for this anthology TV series.

Godfather of Harlem (Epix)

Ilfenesh Hadera has been cast as Mayme Johnson, “wife of Bumpy (Whitaker) and nobody’s fool. She knows the take of every numbers spot from 110th to 168th, but still makes a Sunday meal that draws a full house of friends and family every weekend. A testament to the power of the African-American mother as insulator, protector and champion. She’s also a dynamo who won the most powerful black man in Harlem.”

Vincent D’Onofrio has been cast as Vincent “Chin” Gigante, “a former boxer who works his way up from enforcer to hitman to, eventually, the crime boss of the Genovese crime family. Gigante is thought to be a dimwitted thug but uses that as a ruse to mask his razor-sharp criminal mind, outwitting rivals and avoiding prosecution along the way.”

This director will be directing Forest Whitaker in the crime series.

Godfather of Harlem‘s plot synopsis: “Godfather of Harlem tells the true story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned from ten years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy must take on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X – catching Malcolm’s political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart.”

John Ridley will direct the pilot episode of TV series.

The series may premiere in 2019.

The Banker’s Wife

Rosamund Pike has been cast as Annabel Werner, a recent widow who is left grappling with the secrets he left behind, including an encrypted laptop and a shady client list. As she begins a desperate search for answers, she determines that Matthew’s death was no accident, and that she is now in the crosshairs of his powerful enemies.

Lesli Linka Glatter will direct some of the series’ episodes.
