TV Review: DEXTER: Season 5, Ep. 7: Circle Us

Dexter, Circle Us, Header

Dexter, Season 5, episode 7 – entitled Circle Us – saw the creation of a team in words and actions, a drawing in closer of lives. This happened on two venues: with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and his retainer Lumen (Julia Stiles) and with Deborah (Jennifer Carpenter) and Quinn (Desmond Harrington).

The result of the truck crash was fantastic. The introduction of the two new antagonists opens up the human trafficking, torture ring, making it border in good ways, especially since the members seem to all be childhood friends. Seeing Lumen’s description of them come to life, one by one, should be interesting. I bet I know who the watch guy is already.

This episode had the typical Dexter police manipulation but at least Quinn isn’t buying all of it. Neither is the dog he placed on Dexter’s trail. Now Quinn knows about Lumen. Dexter integrating Lumen into his life was an idiotic move. What is he going to do with her after all her tortures are dead?

The club shootout didn’t really make any sense. The bad guys shoot the girl they know and have hung out with previously multiple times but don’t shoot the mysterious new girl with the gun? Totally realistic.
