Spartacus Blood and Sand Old Wounds Review

Old Wounds, the most recent episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, was more than initially meets the eye. For the last three or four episodes, Batiatus (John Hannah) and Ashur (Nick Tarabay) have laid a clandestine plan. That plan came to fruition at the end of this episode. I never saw it coming nor was I looking for it. Well done.

Spartacus (Andy Whitfield)’s hallucinations and his discovery of what Batiatus had done to Sura (Erin Cummings) occurred in a way I did not think it would. I thought Ashur would find out what Batiatus had done and would use that information against him at some future date. Now the old Spartacus, or whatever his real name is, is restored.

Crixus (Manu Bennett)’s arena battle, Pompei vs. Capua, was very entertaining. His opponent was beyond worthy and far quicker than Crixus. I actually thought he would die. I did not totally believe his rally in the end but Crixus is a veteran of the arena, so it is possible.

What did you think of the latest episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand?
