Spartacus Blood and Sand Shadow Games Review

The latest episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Ep.5, entitled Shadow Games, may have showcased the end of Crixus (Manu Bennett), Champion of Capua. I say may because he could still be alive. Spartacus (Andy Whitfield) is one lucky SOB but the rains have come and his dream from the last episode said when they did, his wife would die or at least something bad would happen to her.

Shadow Games could have easily been called Ilithyia (Viva Bianca)’s cleavage episode though. By Juno, all eyes are on her when she is on screen. She has such a patrician, callous demeanor, complete with a hauteur voice pattern, she is wonderful to watch. I also liked the fact that she, along with Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) and Naevia (Lesley Ann-Brandt), all have designs on Crixus in some way.

I did not like the fact that the lanista killed the person he owned money to’s entire family. That was absurdly over the top as they were completely innocent of any wrong doing.
