TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN: PART 2: Film’s Ending Changed from Book

The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 Changes Book EndingThe Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012) has a different ending than the Breaking Dawn book Stephenie Meyer wrote. The Bill Condon directed film was spoke of by Taylor Lautner on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and mentioned that fans of the book “may be surprised by the ending of the movie version.”

Jay Leno had this to say about the changes: “[T]here’s a twist, because the ending — I don’t wanna give anything away — is a little different from maybe, what was in the book.”

What are the chances that Jay Leno actually sat down to read the tween novel series Twilight, watched Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and recognized the changes from the book in the film? It was pure PR to get the film’s audience ready for the change the same way Synder did with Watchmen.

Lautner cleverly countered with: “You know, there’s a very thin line because the fans would freak on us if we changed anything too much…I can confirm there is a twist and I can confirm everybody can find out what it is on Nov. 16.”

From Stephenie Meyer on what the twist could lead to:

there’ve been rumblings of some kind of spinoff or continuation. Adding fuel to the fire, author Stephenie Meyer admits she may not be ready to say goodbye to the Cullens just yet.

‘I even planned out where it would go for a couple more books,’ she said at a press conference. ‘So I know exactly what would happen, I mean there are a lot of characters I think would have a voice in those other stories. I don’t know, maybe I’ll write it out someday for myself.’

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2‘s plot synopsis: “After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.”
