THE WALKING DEAD: Season 5, Episode 8: Coda: Trailers & Clip [AMC]

Seth Gilliam The Walking Dead 508 Coda

TV show trailers & clip for episode 508 of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Coda. Whether you were still basking in the after-glow of the Hunters arc, caught up in the subsequent ‘bottle’ episodes, or left a little out of sorts by the transition, odds are the mid-season finale, to The Walking Dead‘s fifth season, seemed to come on sooner than expected. It didn’t; you just lost track of time – either because you were having too much fun, or because you were waiting for things too pick back up again, first.

Well, whichever the case, the stage has been set for a showdown. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has returned to Atlanta; and after a bumpy start, he intends to leave with both Beth (Emily Kinney), and Carol (Melissa McBride), by peaceful means. Whether Dawn (Christine Woods), her less than steady crew of enforcers, or members of Rick’s own group allow things to go as hoped, remains to be seen.

Both American, and New Zealand versions are very similar in set-up & tone, with the Kiwi cut utilizing blink-and-you-miss-it detail changes, that imply different outcomes to the U.S. version.

While there are glimpses of the D.C. mission members, suggesting they may have a role to play in the finale, the principal ‘Coda’ side-story follows Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). Having ‘escaped’ the ‘protection’ of Rick’s base crew, he allows his guilty conscience to take him to a familiar place. As hard as it was for him to accept what Rick’s group had brought to his refuge, the school he has come to only unsettles him further. He is taken aback – by evidence of its use, as the Hunters’ base camp – even as the window, at which the school’s pent in Walkers had collected, weakens further.

‘Coda’ also features Norman Reedus, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chad L. Coleman, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Alanna Masterson, Tyler James Williams, and Lennie James (shhh – it’s a surprise), and airs Sunday, November 30, at 9:00pm EST, on AMC.
