WELCOME TO LEITH (2015) Movie Trailer & Poster: Small-Town American Nazism

Welcome To Leith Poster & Trailer

Welcome To Leith Movie Trailer & Poster Arrive. Michael Beach Nichols and Christopher K. Walker‘s Welcome To Leith (2015) movie trailer stars various citizens of the small town of Leith. Welcome To Leith‘s plot synopsis: Welcome to Leith is a feature documentary chronicling the attempted takeover of a small town in North Dakota by notorious white supremacist Craig Cobb. Filmed in the days leading up to Cobb’s arrest for terrorizing the townspeople on an armed patrol and his subsequent release from jail six months later, the film is an eerie document of American DIY ideals.”

Well, doesn’t this just look absolutely batshit, engrossing, and terribly unnerving? Why, yes it does. I can’t wait to see this, especially since so many reviewers felt the need to compare this to a horror movie – which is a compliment of the highest order when it comes to tension, unease, and anxiety inducing visuals/narratives. Craig Cobb, the supremacist spearheading this takeover effort, looks positively menacing and like a caricature of what a small-town american nazi would look like. They usually do, I find, after watching countless documentaries on similar events, particularly the Louis Theroux BBC mini-docs.

In  any case, I think I’ll see this in theaters. It seems like something you’d want to see with the added physical/vocal reactions of an audience experiencing this film moment by moment, as you are.

Take a look at the poster! I dig it quite a bit.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
