Starz‘s The White Princess (2017) TV mini-series teaser trailer stars Jodie Comer, Jacob Collins-Levy, Chris Barnicoat Katie Powles, and Michelle Fairley. The White Princess‘ plot synopsis: “Adapted from Philippa Gregory’s best-selling novel and part of The Cousins’ War book series, The White Princess sees England ostensibly united by the marriage of Elizabeth of York and King Henry VII, but their personal and political rift runs deep and the war that rages between them threatens to tear the kingdom apart once again. The White Princess miniseries offers a tale of power, family, love, betrayal and death, which charts one of the most tumultuous times in British history uniquely from the point of view of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne.”

There is not a lot of material shown in this The White Princess tease. The principal characters show up, namely Princess Elizabeth (Jodie Comer), and Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy), the viewer gets a very basic feel for their relationship. It seems a little fridge.

The is imagery of Henry’s court, some of them his family, and the Elizabeth taken off a gold crown, presumably after he and Henry’s wedding has taken place.

I enjoyed watching every episode of the predecessor to The White Princess entitled The White Queen. It was very engaging, watching the lead character scheme and her personality change by her station and the presence of her children. I hope that character development happens in The White Princess not only with Princess Elizabeth but with Henry VII as well. Since the writer of The White Queen, Emma Frost, is the executive producer and showrunner of The White Princess, there is a good chance that this may occur. The director of three episodes of The White Queen, Jamie Payne, is also directing The White Princess.

The White Princess also stars Essie Davis, Rebecca Benson, Alison Garner, Patrick Gibson, Oliver Hembrough, Amy Manson, Anthony Flanagan, Guillaume Rivaud, Rollo Skinner, Albert de Jongh, Iain Batchelor, and Samantha E. Hunt.
