The second TV mini-series trailer for The White Princess (2017) has been released by Starz. The teaser trailer for this mini-series nodded to the main conflict within this television drama. This second trailer fully describes it and is pretty surprising in a few of its moments.

Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy) might be king but Princess Elizabeth (Jodie Comer) commands clandestine respect from many. Henry’s rule over her seems more of act, on Elizabeth part, or subjugation. The King wants one thing, Elizabeth pretends to be to that to survive, while in secret she is someone else. People in the public eye often live dual lives: 1.) their public persona, possibly an invention and 2.) their private personality where they are able to speak their mind freely.

By contrast, the main female protagonist in The White Queen, the predecessor to The White Princess, was always the same person, no matter the situation.

The White Princess‘ plot synopsis: “Adapted from Philippa Gregory’s best-selling novel and part of The Cousins’ War book series, The White Princess sees England ostensibly united by the marriage of Elizabeth of York and King Henry VII, but their personal and political rift runs deep and the war that rages between them threatens to tear the kingdom apart once again.
