WONDER WOMAN (2017): Michelle MacLaren Exits as Director

Michelle MacLaren

Michelle MacLaren Departs from Directing Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman may need a new director now that Michelle MacLaren has left the director’s chair. With MacLaren out, Warner Bros. is currently searching for a new director to take the reigns for the female warrior’s debut film.

The Hollywood Reporter first gave word that the female director known for helming episodes of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead has left the project due to creative differences. In a statement, the studio wrote, “Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together.”

Despite MacLaren leaving Wonder Woman, hopefully this doesn’t effect the 2017 release date of the film as shooting is scheduled to begin this fall giving Warner Bros. plenty of time to search for a replacement.

Who do you guys think should replace MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman’s first solo film? Starring Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman is set to release on June 23, 2017.
