Plot Synopsis

Worth‘s plot synopsis: “Based on true events. An attorney learns a lesson in empathy when he is faced with the near-impossible task of determining how to compensate families who suffered incalculable losses as a result of the September 11th attacks in 2001.”

More on the plot:

Passed into legislation shortly after the September 11th attacks in 2001, the fund was created to compensate the victims of the attack and their families. Feinberg was put in charge to calculate how much each family would be compensated, essentially coming up with an appropriate monetary value for each victim. Feinberg used a detailed mathematical formula and a list of eight classifications to come up with a number. Suffice it to say, family members weren’t overjoyed. No one seemed to be pleased about this emotionally arduous process.
