Writers Guild Awards 2018 Winners

The Handmaid’s TaleGet Out, Call Me By Your Name, and the other winners for the 2018 Writers Guild Awards have been announced. The 70th Annual Writers Guild Awards (WGA) are presented by the “Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE)…for outstanding achievement in writing for the screen.”

With the announcement of the 2018 winners of the Writers Guild Awards, The Handmaid’s Tale‘s winning streak in the television drama category was moved forward unabated. The Handmaid’s Tale won two awards at the 2018 WGAs, one for Best Television Drama Series and the other for Best New Television Series. As a ardent viewer of The Handmaid’s Tale, I can say that the awards are well deserved.

After almost a year after the film was released, Get Out continues to make a name for itself in awards circles. At the 2018 Writers Guild Awards, Get Out won for Best Original Screenplay in a Motion Picture. Call Me by Your Name won for Best Adapted Screenplay in a Motion Picture, adding to the numerous awards that film has won this awards season.
