X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (2016): Film to Focus More on Magneto and Mystique’s Relationship

Magneto Mystique

Magneto and Mystique’s Romance to Be Explored on X-Men: Apocalypse. More information has been revealed on X-Men: Apocalypse, as production is about to begin. This new info reveals that the next X-Men film will focus heavily on Magneto and Mystique’s romantic relationship.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Bryan Singer’s next film in the X-Men franchise will have Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence “front and center” as their characters Magneto and Mystique become romantically entangled. This would add to the other piece of info last September when writer Simon Kinberg said that the new film would explore the relationship between Beast and Mystique. So it seems that we may be seeing a love triangle develop, as Nicholas Hoult’s Beast would also compete for the affection of Mystique.

Also starring James McAvoy, X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be the conclusion to the trilogy that started with X-Men: First Class and continuing from X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film will be written by Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty, and Dan Harris. No other cast members have been announced yet, but production will begin in Montreal during spring 2015 for a release date on May 27, 2016.
