John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place (2018) movie trailer 2 stars Emily Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jute, Millicent Simmonds, Evangelina Cavoli, Cade Woodward, Ezekiel Cavoli, and Doris McCarthy.

A Quiet Place plot summary from Wikipedia:

Mysterious supernatural forces attracted to sound have surfaced and are attacking all over the world. A family must now hide and live in silence at a secluded abandoned farm to survive, by avoiding every noise and communicating in sign language.

I haven’t kept up much with John Krasinski since The Office ended, so it’s hard for me to see him as anything other than Jim from that show. Even as he’s tried to shed the slacker image he created for himself so successfully with starring roles in such fare as 12 Hours, it’s still hard for me to take him seriously.

However, I took him and his movie very much seriously while watching the promo for A Quiet Place. As eerie as it is sparse, the trailer is hideously suggestive with its refusal to show what exactly its protagonists are trying to avoid. One feels a vibe similar to that of Monsters, and if we’re lucky we’ll be treated to a movie as arresting as that one. At the very least, we’ll also have Emily Blunt to liven things up with her proven acting ability and angelic good looks.
