Daredevil Gets Picked Up for Season Two with Two New Showrunners. Daredevil will fight another day as Netflix renews the Marvel series for a second season. However, the show will go through a change in leadership, as two new showrunners will take the reins for it’s 2016 return.

According to the Marvel site, executive producers Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will take over as the new showrunners for the new season. Both Petrie and Ramirez worked alongside showrunner Steven DeKnight and creator Drew Goddard for most of season one.

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch,” DeKnight said in a statement. “They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with the show moving forward.”

DeKnight also tweeted the good news saying: “Congrats to my amazing cast and crew of the official green light for season 2 of #Daredevil! Could not be prouder!” But, DeKnight also gave the sad news that he wouldn’t be involved in the development of Daredevil’s next chapter. “Unfortunately I won’t be returning to #Daredevil due to a previous commitment in the feature world. More to come on that in the future.”

Are you guys excited that Daredevil is returning for a second season in 2016? How bummed are you that DeKnight is leaving his leadership duties?
