Well, I’m glad to see Gambit on the big screen. He’s an interesting character with a cool power. But why in the Wolverine movie? Are they trying to include him in the weapon x program? My fear about this new movie is that they are including all of these mutants from x men for no reason other than to appease fans or lay the ground work for a spin-off. If Gambit is a character they want to see in his own movie, just put him in his own movie! He doesn’t belong in this movie.

But I can’t wait to see Deadpool finally hit the big screen! I hope he gets his own movie. The casting of Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson couldn’t be better. And I’ve read every single comic Deadpool has appeared in, so trust me, Deadpool has a great story to tell. It could be a really good movie if he finally got a solo film. With the new Deadpool series and a solo film in the future, tons of fans could be introduced to and become fans of The Merc with Da Mouth!

  • I wish the film was just an intimate tale of Sabretooth, Wolverine and Stryker, their motivations, why they joined the military and what brought them together in that jail cell after their execution. I knew that would never be the case.

I don’t like the inclusion of these other mutants either, including Gambit.

Deadpool will be good if they put the time into his character instead of effects and flash for the film.

That would be cool. But I do like the inclusion of the Weapon X mutants though. Deadpool, Ajax (for use in a future Deadpool movie) Maverick, John Wraith, Silver Fox and Garrison Kane. They don’t all need to be explored. Just referrenced, because they were part of Weapon X, either original Weapon X or the Canadian team.

Obviously, they will want to dive deep into Deadpool. They cast Reynolds and they have said he will get a solo film. I’d love to see him and Wolvie throw down. Two mutants with healing factors really kicking each other around! Give a little more Ajax, just so people will be familiar with him as the villain in the Deadpool movie. Thats it.

All this said, I will be seeing Wolverine on opening day. I will also go see The Day the Earth Stood Still on opening day just to see the new Wolverine trailer!

  • As long as Deadpool’s story doesn’t overshadow Wolverine’s and Sabretooth’s, I’m fine with it.

I might be there on opening day for The Day the Earth Stood Still but I don’t know about Wolverine.

I think this movie will mainly be about Wolverine/ Sabretooth. Deadpool seems to be secondary.

You know what sold me on the movie? That footage from Comic-Con, when Wolvie was talking to Creed and he said he was gonna tear his freaking head off. That just seemed cool to me. If the movie is violent, then it will be good. Pretty simple.

  • “I think this movie will mainly be about Wolverine/ Sabretooth. Deadpool seems to be secondary.”

That is the impression I get as well.

I liked seeing Wolverine/ Sabretooth stab each other in the footage. Too bad they didn’t use the actor that played Sabretooth from the first X-Men film.

I don’t tend to like the actors changing, for continuity issues, but I actually like Leiv Schreiber as Sabretooth. He looks better as the character than Tyler Mane.

  • Schreiber may be a better actor but Mane is far more intimidating, taller and more muscular.

You’re right about that. I think most of my problems with the character were due to his mis-use in the film. They really could’ve done so much more with him

  • Wolverine and Sabretooth’s pasts were altered in that film so in a way they were both misused. They didn’t even know each other.

It really was a shame. But I think they will mess that up in Origins too. Marvel seems to be the only ones who care about continuity and staying true to the characters

  • But Wolverine and Sabretooth are Marvel characters so…
DC did a good job with The Bat in the two new Batman film. Lets not forget their handling of The Joker also.

I meant like studio wise. Fox has X Men. But Marvel is the independent studio now, doing Iron Man and Hulk, then having future products lined up. And Iron Man and Incredible Hulk were pretty true to the comics and the characters, more so than Fox ever did with the X men films. And I forget who owns Fantastic four, it’s not Marvel though. The studio screwed them up too. I guess I mean if Marvel owned the rights and did the X men films, they would be truer to the comics.
I would like to see DC take the Marvel approach and buy up the rights to all their characters so they could do all the movies themselves. Right now, Marvel is light years ahead of DC despite the success of TDK.

  • Got it.
    FF is a joke.
I agree. Marvel’s independent studio is light years ahead of DC.
