Rebel Wilson Suggests That a Fourth PITCH PERFECT Film is in Development

A Fourth Pitch Perfect Movie Could Be on the Horizon

Rebel Wilson has suggested that a fourth installment in the wildly successful Pitch Perfect franchise could be in the works.

After three successful Pitch Perfect movies, a fourth film in the series was probably inevitable. However, it has been almost 7 years since the lovely singing group showcased in these pictures, The Bellas, performed on-screen. With cast members like Brittany Snow, Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld and the fun Rebel Wilson, the Pitch Perfect trilogy was an enjoyable set of comedies even though the series ran out of steam a bit by 2017 when the last movie was released in theaters. Wilson has suggested that a fourth movie is in development which could make its way to the screen one day soon.

Adam DeVine had a hilarious end-credits sequence in Pitch Perfect 2 where he was singing to impress Christina Aguilera as a contestant on “The Voice.” However, the promise on that plot thread was not continued much in Pitch Perfect 3, an underdeveloped, if entertaining picture which was the last that audiences saw of the Bellas on the big screen. The Bellas sang popular hit songs like Jessie J’s “Price Tag” in these movies and unique original songs as well. The movie series was highlighted by hilarious turns from Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins whose witty banter helped make the movies successful.

The first Pitch Perfect came out in 2012 and the second one followed three years later in 2015. Wilson gave the film a humorous vibe which makes one think she will be one of the returning cast members in the next chapter of the series. The cast is older now, for sure, which means that the plot will have to be carefully constructed to show how the Bellas have integrated their vocal talents into the real world.

Pitch Perfect made $65 million domestically and another $50 million internationally which automatically made this franchise one to be reckoned with. The first sequel made a whopping $184 million domestically and another $102 million overseas while the third picture petered out with $104 million in the U.S. and Canada and another $80 million internationally. The second and third films were equally liked by audiences with both pictures receiving “A-” CinemaScore grades.

Rebel Wilson has stirred up a lot of interest for fans in terms of seeing the return of the Bellas for another Pitch Perfect movie. Even with a big “price tag,” the next Pitch Perfect would still be a profitable movie if it uses good songs. The movie has seven years worth of songs to choose from for the Bellas to sing and may even create some new ones when the movie officially comes into fruition.
