Saoirse Ronan is trained to kill in Joe Wright’s Hanna

Saoirse Ronan has joined the cast of Joe Wright‘s Hanna. Hanna‘s plot synopsis: “the story of a 14-year-old Eastern European girl (Ronan) raised by her father to be a cold-blooded killing machine. She connects with a French family only to be dragged back into her father’s world where she must confront her dark past while at a CIA prison camp and fight her way to a free life.” Are teen killers, assassins, and general badasses in vogue now? I guess Hit-Girl is having a far  greater collateral effects on Hollywood than most people anticipated. Hanna sounds a lot like Project Adam from Soldier except I did not see any girls in that program. Hanna also sounds like one of the sub-plots to Kick-Ass involving Mndy Macready/Hit-Girl and Damon Macready/Big Daddy. Then again, it sounds like Project Christmas from the television show Alias. Basically Hanna sounds like a mixed bag of different elements we have seen before. I have to admit though that I am looking forward to this film, especially if the material is handled right. Hanna will be released sometime in 2012. We will keep you posted.
