Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore return for X-Men Days of Future Past. The casting of Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore in X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014) answers the question of whether or not the three actors would reprise their roles of Rogue, Shadowcat, and Iceman, respectively in the Bryan Singer directed film. Anna Paquin appeared in Singer’s X-Men, X-Men 2 (X2), and Brett Ratner‘s X-Men: The Last Stand. Ellen Page appeared X-Men: The Last Stand. Shawn Ashmore appeared in X-Men, X-Men 2, and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Bryan Singer confirmed Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore’s involvement via Twitter:

Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen #DaysofFuturePast – thank you @brettratner for letting them live!

— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) January 26, 2013

Obviously, Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat) is going to play one of the central roles in the upcoming film.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s plot synopsis: based on Days of Future Past storyline from 1981’s Uncanny X-Men, “The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.”
