BATMAN V SUPERMAN (2016): Zack Snyder Confirms More Screen Time for Batman

Zack Snyder Confirms More Batman Than Superman in Batman v Superman. With these recent rumors that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may focus more on the Dark Knight than the Man of Steel, it looks like that’s the grand plan according to Zack Snyder.

The DC Extended Universe architect spoke with The Daily Beast about the reason Batman may get more screen time in the film. “Only in that because it’s a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do—and you just had a whole Superman movie,” confirmed Snyder. “But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that’s more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on.”

Snyder also took a jab at Marvel saying how DC surpasses them in the superhero genre. “I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they’re Batman and Superman,” Snyder said. “They’re not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man — not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?”

Based on these comments from Zack Snyder, it makes sense for Batman to become more of a focus in the movie than Superman in order to establish the character and provide a bit of a backstory in the DC Extended Universe. What do you guys think?

Starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Batman v Superman hits theaters March 25, 2016.
