The second TV show trailer for the fourth season of Black Sails has been released by Starz at the 2016 New York Comic Con. It’s sad that this is the final season of Black Sails but at least it is going out strong both narratively and action-wise. Billy Bones (Tom Hopper) has finally made his move against Captain Flint (Toby Stephens). Thankfully the reason for the uprising is not shown in the trailer. The seeds for that move by Bones have been laid for the last two seasons of the series.

Woodes Rogers (Luke Roberts) is given advice that has the effect of hardening his resolve in this trailer. Eleanor Guthrie (Hannah New) seems to be blowing with the wind, her life, hopes, and dreams resting on the success of a married man. She even gets in on the action in this trailer.

Max (Jessica Parker Kennedy) seems to lose everything that she has acquired. Perhaps she sees what is coming and decides to run.

This trailer also introduces the new threat (the enemy that Rogers speaks of remaking itself) that will become apparent this season: the pirates want to destroy the civilized world or so their enemies believe. There is tons of seas warfare in this trailer but also land warfare as well.

Black Sails: Season 4’s plot synopsis: “the Treasure Island prequel…finds [the] pirates at war in the West Indies. The shores of New Providence Island have never been bloodier, but the closer civilization comes to defeat, the more desperately, and destructively, it will fight back.”

Black Sails: Season 4 also stars Ray Stevenson, Toby Schmitz, Clara Paget, Craig Jackson, Jason Delplanque, Grant Ross, and David Wilmot.
