BOUNCE: JoJo Siwa and Paramount Players Are No Longer Attached to Project

Jojo Siwa Side Profile

JoJo Siwa Leaves Behind Much Talked About Film Project

Teen sensation JoJo Siwa will not be making her feature film debut in the film Bounce as previously reported last year.

In a surprise series of events, JoJo Siwa won’t be starring in a Paramount Players movie titled Bounce. Last year, it was made known that Siwa would not have to kiss her male co-star in the project which, at that time, was in development. Now, the project has been scrapped all together and has thus been abandoned by both the teen star and the movie studio.

Siwa and the wildly popular professional dancer, Jenna Johnson, paired up on “Dancing with the Stars” last year and, as a result, Siwa’s star status is even stronger than it was before. Siwa and Johnson were the first same sex couple to appear on the much adored television program. Perhaps, she is carefully selecting the film that will launch her acting career and, apparently, Bounce was not the right one.

To make it clear, this was not going to be a remake of the Ben Affleck/Gwyneth Paltrow film from 2000, Bounce. The project Siwa was attached to was an adaptation of a YA book by Megan Shull which was also titled Bounce. Since Will and Jada Pinkett Smith were once going to be producers of the Siwa project to help support Caleb Pinkett, some people drew conclusions that Siwa pulled out because of the Will Smith Academy Awards incident from a couple of Sundays ago. Not true. Bounce was never going to get off the ground regardless of what happened at the Oscars ceremony a week and a half ago.

After the original script of Bounce called for Siwa’s character in the project to kiss a male, the teen idol made quite a fuss and her demands were given into by removal of that requirement. Now, there is nothing for Siwa to worry about as no film is being produced at the current time.

The future of the film project, Bounce, seems rather uncertain at this present time. Paramount Players has pulled the plug for the time being. That will leave Siwa fans who hope to see her make her acting debut on the big screen or in a streaming film still waiting for that first feature length movie to showcase Siwa’s acting talents to the world.

JoJo Siwa came very close to winning “Dancing with the Stars” and has many different talents outside of acting, obviously including—you guessed it–dancing. While her fans are certainly disappointed at the evaporation of the film project, Bounce, Siwa’s got plenty of time to make a feature film debut. She’s only 18-years old!
