JoJo Siwa Won’t Kiss Male Co-Star in New Film

JoJo Siwa has a new upcoming film called Bounce (2022) and she will not be required to kiss a male co-star of the film.

18-year old internet sensation JoJo Siwa recently came out last January as pansexual. She has a new film project based on a 2016 Megan Shull young adult novel called Bounce.

This soon-to-be-made film obviously has no relation to the film Bounce from 2000 which starred Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow. Siwa’s Bounce is about a young girl who wishes she could trade her family for another one on Christmas Eve. She then proceeds to “bounce” into other girls and experience other lives.

Although there was the possibility of Siwa having to kiss a male co-star in the film, it now seems that her strong protest to participate in such a scenario has been met with understanding. It has been deemed that the scenario is not absolutely necessary to the movie’s success.

Siwa, who is madly in love with a female, Kylie Prew, felt that doing something that is against what she believes in would be wrong. Kissing another human being is what Siwa was referring to. Siwa went on to add, especially if it’s a male, according to Variety.

Many may find it inspirational that a young talent in Hollywood such as Siwa could be able to make a decision that would be met with such understanding when, traditionally, filmmakers or a movie studio wouldn’t honor such a request. This scenario gives us hope that talented actresses such as Siwa may be met half way so they are not left to feel uncomfortable.

When Siwa “came out” this past January, she danced to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” which was inspirational to many girls across the world who may feel they are misunderstood and want to express who they truly are and what they truly feel. Siwa is a role model to many teenage girls throughout the world.

Siwa is on quite a winning streak lately. She is in negotiations for a deal with Peacock. an NBC streaming service. It is also reported that she will be in a Nickelodeon musical about her life. Siwa also has the distinction of being on the Variety 2021 “Power of Pride” list. It is to be determined if she is going to be a big box-office draw since she hasn’t had many film credits on the big screen yet.

This upcoming film will be directed by Susan Johnson. She is known for her work on Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Bounce is going to be released by Paramount Players in 2022.
