The theatrical movie box office results for August 13, 2021 through August 16, 2021 have been released.

Free Guy premiered in the Number One spot at the United States box office over the weekend with $28.4 Million.

Don’t Breathe 2 premiered in Second Place at the box office with $10.6 Million.

Jungle Cruise was Third at the box office for the second week in a row with $9 Million.

Respect premiered in Fourth Place at the box office over the weekend with $8.8 Million.

The Suicide Squad was Fifth for the second week in a row at the box office with $7.5 Million.

These films: Old, Black Widow, Stillwater, The Green Knight, and Space Jam: A New Legacy rounded out the top ten respectively.

Free Guy is a 2021 American science fiction action comedy film directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, and a story by Lieberman. The film stars Ryan Reynolds (who also co-produced) as a bank teller who discovers he is actually a non-player character in an open-world video game and decides to become the hero of the story and save his friends from deletion by the game’s creator (Taika Waititi). Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Joe Keery also star.

Don’t Breathe 2 is a 2021 American horror thriller film directed by Rodo Sayagues in his directorial debut, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fede Álvarez, the director of the first film, 2016’s Don’t Breathe. The sequel is produced by Álvarez, Sam Raimi, and Robert Tapert, and stars Stephen Lang, reprising his role as Norman Nordstrom / “The Blind Man,” with Brendan Sexton III and Madelyn Grace in supporting roles.

Respect is a 2021 biographical musical drama film based on the life of American singer Aretha Franklin. Directed by Liesl Tommy (in her feature directorial debut), from a screenplay written by Tracey Scott Wilson, the film stars Jennifer Hudson as Franklin. Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan, and Mary J. Blige are featured in supporting roles.
