Box Office: January 20-22, 2017

Split premiered in the Number One spot at the box office with $40.1 Million so far. I have been rooting for M. Night Shyamalan to get back into the groove that he struck when he first emerged in Hollywood with The Sixth Sense. After years of “okay” films and outright flops, Shyamalan has done so.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage premiered in Second Place this weekend with $20 Million. Hidden Figures was Third with $16.2 Million. Sing was in Fourth with $9 Million for $249.3 Million so far. La La Land was Fifth with $8.3 Million. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (which crossed the $1 Billion mark world-wide), Monster Trucks, Patriots Day, The Founder (which premiered this weekend), and Sleepless rounded out the top ten respectively.
