The theatrical movie box office results for January 5, 2024 through January 7, 2024 have been released.

The Box Office

Wonka was Number One at the United States box office for the second week in a row with $14.4 Million (a 36% decrease from last weekend) for $164.6 Million so far. Wonka has been the number one film at the box office three times since it opened in theaters. Worldwide, the film has made $465.8 Million.

Night Swim premiered in Second Place at the United States box office over the weekend with $12 Million.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was Third at the United States box office over the weekend with $10.6 Million (a 42% decrease from last weekend) for $100 Million so far. Worldwide, the film has made $334.8 Million.

Migration was Fourth at the United States box office over the weekend with $10.2 Million (a 40% increase from last weekend).

Anyone But You was Fifth for the second week in a row at the United States box office with $9.5 Million (a 9% increase from last weekend).

These films: The Boy and the Heron, The Color Purple, The Iron Claw, Ferrari, and Poor Things rounded out the top ten respectively.

Night Swim is a 2024 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Bryce McGuire (in his feature directorial debut), and based on the 2014 short film of the same name by McGuire and Rod Blackhurst. The film stars Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon. Its plot follows a suburban family who discover that their backyard swimming pool is haunted.

“A box office or ticket office is a place where tickets are sold to the public for admission to an event. Patrons may perform the transaction at a countertop, through a hole in a wall or window, or at a wicket.

Box office business can be measured in the terms of the number of tickets sold or the amount of money raised by ticket sales (revenue).
