The Box Office

Five Nights at Freddy’s premiered in the Number One spot at the box office at the United States box office with $80 Million so far.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was Second at the United States box office with $15.4 Million (a 54% drop from last weekend) for $150 Million so far. Worldwide, the film has made $202.6 Million.

Killers of the Flower Moon was Third at the United States box office over the weekend with $9.3 Million (a 60% drop from last weekend) so far.

After Death premiered in Fourth Place at the United States box office over the weekend with $5 Million so far.

The Exorcist: Believer was Fifth at the United States box office with $5.6 Million (a 49% drop from last weekend) so far.

These films: PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Freelance, Saw X, and The Creator rounded out the top ten respectively.

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a 2023 American supernatural horror film based on the video game franchise of the same name created by Scott Cawthon. Directed by Emma Tammi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback, from a story by Cawthon, Chris Lee Hill, and Tyler MacIntyre, the film stars Josh Hutcherson as a troubled security guard who accepts a night-time job at an abandoned family entertainment center, where he discovers its four animatronic mascots come alive and are prone to murder. Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard appear in supporting roles.

After Death is a 2023 American Christian documentary film written and directed by Stephen Gray and Chris Radtke. The film chronicles the stories of various near-death experience survivors, and features analysis of these events by authors and scientists as they try to determine what happens after we die. The film features interviews, as well as re-enactments of the events, as they try to solve life’s greatest mystery.

Freelance is a 2023 American action comedy film directed by Pierre Morel and written by Jacob Lentz in his feature writing debut. It stars John Cena, Alison Brie, Juan Pablo Raba, and Christian Slater.

“A box office or ticket office is a place where tickets are sold to the public for admission to an event. Patrons may perform the transaction at a countertop, through a hole in a wall or window, or at a wicket.

By extension, the term is frequently used, especially in the context of the film industry, as a metonym for the amount of business a particular production, such as a film or theatre show, receives. The term is also used to refer to a ticket office at an arena or a stadium.

Box office business can be measured in the terms of the number of tickets sold or the amount of money raised by ticket sales (revenue). The projection and analysis of these earnings is greatly important for the creative industries and often a source of interest for fans. This is predominant in the Hollywood movie industry.

To determine if a movie made a profit, it is not correct to directly compare the box office gross with the production budget, because the movie theater keeps nearly half of the gross on average.
