Daredevil Renewed, Luke Cage and The Defenders Teasers, Sizzle Reel, Netflix Release Dates

Netflix’s Daredevil has been renewed for a third season. Though renewed, Daredevil: Season 3 will not be premiering for sometime. Luke Cage: Season 1 is being released on September 30, 2016. Iron Fist: Season is being released in early 2017. The Defenders will be released after Iron Fist later in 2017. Daredevil: Season 3 will be released after The Defenders as well as Season 2 of Jessica Jones. The release of Season 3 of Daredevil and Season 2 of Jessica Jones will probably be in 2018. I don’t think Netflix and Marvel are going to release Iron Fist, The Defenders, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones all in the same year. It would be better for them to spread-out everything than to over-saturate a market that they are arguably sitting atop.

The Defenders and Daredevil teasers don’t actually feature any footage but are cool to watch. The Defenders teaser is all imagery associated with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. There is one line dialogue in The Defenders teaser spoken by Stick (Scott Glenn) “You think the four of you can save New York? You can’t even save yourselves.” Along with Stick, The Defenders will star Matt Murdock / Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand / Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

 The Daredevil: Season 3 teaser features the sound of combat.  The Luke Cage teaser trailer does features actual footage from the upcoming series. Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Cornell Stokes (Mahershala Ali) are featured in the Luke Cage 2016 San Diego Comic Con footage. In the footage, Cage takes down a gang site and then meets Cornell Stokes.

Luke Cage’s plot synopsis: “After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.”

Luke Cage also stars Frankie Faison, Erik LaRay Harvey, Darius Kaleb, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Kellen C Wingate, Alfre Woodard, Jaiden Kaine, and Justin Swain.

The sizzle reel features the best moments from all of the released, Marvel, Netflix footage from the 2016 San Diego Comic Con. The sizzle reel also features a large amount of footage from Luke Cage: Season 1 not found in the Luke Cage teaser.
