While Hollywood Studios are doing what they can to adjust to the indefinite closure of theatres and the Hollywood shutdown, Disney and Sony have decided to shuffle their release date calendars. According to Deadline, both have announced that they’re making major changes to upcoming Marvel films, shifting their release dates by several months.

Disney is scheduled to go into production in May, but considering how during this day and age, planned things are uncertain and may be delayed longer. The studio has pushed ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ release date from November 5,2021 to March 25, 2022, making this the second release date change for the film.

Scarlett Johansson’s solo film ‘Black Widow’ was set to release May 1, 2020 but has been officially pushed to be released on November 11, 2020. That same week, Angelina Jolie’s ‘The Eternals’ was supposed to be released but that film has been pushed to a new release date of 2/12/2021. The Captain Marvel sequel has also been pushed back to July 8, 2022.

Sony has postponed the two upcoming Spider Man films. Marvel’s untitled ‘Spiderman: Far From Home’ sequel was set to release July 16, 2021 but has been pushed back to November 5, 2021. The ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ sequel, which its first film won last year’s Academy Award for Best Animated Film, is being pushed from April 8, 2020 to October 7, 2022.
