Thoughts on This Week’s In-home Releases

The home releases of She Said, Fear the Walking Dead, Groundhog Day, Wanted, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Megan, Women Talking, Training Day, and 12 Angry Men are the most noteworthy releases (and pre-orders) on home video and streaming services this week.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed She Said and had this to say about the film:

She Said is an excellent example of a film that makes investigative journalism seem more exciting than it probably is. It’s definitely exciting when the final product is ultimately unveiled in print (or online) journalism but it’s frustrating, and grueling trying to break one of the most important stories ever as the events in this picture portray. Still, the movie is nail-biting and even if the real life events were happening at a slower pace than they happen here, it doesn’t matter because this film will never lose the audience’s attention throughout the duration of the entire picture.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and had this to say about the film:

It’s hard to compare this sequel to the original Black Panther from 2018 because by doing so, the second movie pales a bit in comparison. It’s not right to compare the pictures because the death of Boseman propelled the series in a different direction than it may have gone had the actor been able to return for the new film. Surprisingly, enough, however, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever eloquently honors Boseman’s memory by the story and the action within the film.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Megan and had this to say about the film:

Megan is a fun new horror movie that, at times, feels a bit like Child’s Play with a female Chucky, but there are a lot of fresh insights that Megan brings into view during the course of its running time. Directed by Gerard Johnstone with a twisted sense of humor, Megan ultimately makes the recent remake of Child’s Play pale in comparison. That’s because Megan has fun with the material it presents and doesn’t simply sink into a standard slasher movie although it comes close at times.

FilmBook Writer David McDonald reviewed Piggy and had this to say about the film:
