Thoughts on This Week’s In-home Releases

The home releases of Women Talking, Missing, Air Force One, The Mask of Zorro, Fear, The Whale, The Walking Dead, and The Core are the most noteworthy releases (and pre-orders) on home video and streaming services this week.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Women Talking and had this to say about the film:

As the picture reaches its powerful conclusion, Women Talking sugarcoats nothing. It’s a fiercely acted movie about taking a stand and doing what is necessary to live the best life possible. It takes big risks and succeeds in ways no other picture this year has in terms of being totally creative and making important points about the necessity for a positive quality of life for all. Polley’s movie will get under your skin and stay there for days. It’s a true triumph.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Missing and had this to say about the film:

While Missing is full of surprises and will captivate its audience for the majority of the movie’s running time, it is full of inane plot twists that may work in spurts but ultimately become the movie’s downfall. Filmmakers Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick do a lot right in this movie, however, because it’s not easy to guess which way the plot will turn out in the end even though a lot of the story’s surprises are obvious if you pay close attention to every early scene in the picture.
