[Chris] Pine is in talks to lead The Finest Hours, a coast guard drama set back in 1952 and based on the non-fiction book of the same name about how two oil tankers were caught in the middle of a nor’easter, a macro-scale storm along the upper East Coast of the US and Atlantic Canada.

Sinister 2 (Blumhouse Productions)

while [Scott] Derrickson [, the director of the first film,] is still attached as a producer and writer, the filmmaker just revealed on Twitter that Ciaran Foy, the director of Citadel (which won the Midnighter Audience Award at SXSW in 2012), will be at the helm of the horror sequel this time.

Scouts vs. Zombies

[David Koechner] has landed the role of Scout Leader Rogers in the aptly named Scouts vs. Zombies, about a group of young boy scouts who must defend their town against the undead. Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones director Christopher Landon is at the helm

Mrs. Doubtfire 2

Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is back on the table at Fox 2000 with both [Robin] Williams and the director Chris Columbus returning for the sequel and Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum working on the screenplay.

Entourage

Rhys Coiro…will reprise his role as Billy Walsh in Doug Ellin’s upcoming Entourage pic.

Crawlspace (New Line)

Ronnie Gene Blevins (Joe) has been cast in New Line’s genre pic Crawlspace, directed by Vampire Killers helmer Phil Claydon. He’ll play Ray Walsh, the gruff and mysterious next-door neighbor of widower (Michael Vartan), who moves into a new home in the suburbs with his daughter and new wife.

Shangri-La Suite

Reiley McClendon has booked a role in Shangri-La Suite opposite Luke Grimes and Emily Browning…McClendon will play young Elvis.
