Elle Fanning has been attached to star as Violet since last year. Nivens will write the script for the film

LBJ

Bill Pullman has signed on to play Sen. Ralph Yarborough in Rob Reiner’s LBJ

Pullman will play Yarborough, the famed progressive Democrat from Texas who was often at odds with the President despite their common roots. They were in the car together in Dallas when JFK was killed.

Ports Of Call

Golshifteh Farahani, Louis Garrel and Pierre Niney are attached to star in Atiq Rahimi’s Ports Of Call.

Just Mercy: A Story Of Justice and Redemption

Michael B. Jordan has been cast in Broad Green Pictures’ adaptation of Just Mercy: A Story Of Justice and Redemption…the film will recount renowned civil rights defense attorney Stevenson as fought to free a condemned death row prisoner. The true story is one of redemption, passion and mercy set contrasted against a corrupt judicial system that favors the death penalty and unfairly targets the poor. Jordan will star as Stevenson.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script Cretton wrote with Andrew Lanham

Sony is eyeing “Boyhood” director Richard Linklater to helm Jennifer Lawrence’s dramedy “The Rosie Project.”

The movie, based on the Graeme Simsion novel, centers on a socially awkward genetics professor who devises a science-based survey to find the perfect mate — only to see those theories splintered when he meets the spontaneous Rosie Jarman (played by Lawrence), who possesses the opposite qualities.
