Neil Jones’ Gunfather is going into pre-production in 2017

Neil Jones‘ crime action movie Gunfather is going into pre-production later this year. Written, directed, and produced by Neil Jones (Age of Kill, Risen), Gunfather tells the story of “Mike Demir, a retired gangster, who trades sunny Spain for London, reuniting with his estranged ex-wife and former criminal colleagues to investigate the disappearance of his only son.”

Mem Ferda (Pusher, Miss You Already, Hard Tide) will be appearing in Gunfather‘s lead role alongside Jason Flemyng (Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Tony Denham (The Football Factory, We Still Steal the Old Way), and Max Wrottesley (Guardians of the Galaxy, Hugo).

Mem Ferda has worked with some of the greatest living film directors: Oscar nominated Sir Alan Parker, BAFTA nominated Julian Gilbey, James Bond Director Lee Tamahori, and Guy Ritchie. Now Mem Ferda adds Neil Jones to that growing list with Gunfather.

Following Mem Ferda’s recent starring role in London Heist (due to hit U.K. theaters on July 17, 2017) alongside Craig Fairbrass (Rise of the Footsoldier), Steven Berkoff (A Clockwork Orange), and James Cosmo (Game of Thrones) and the recent release of his latest Award winning feature Smoking Guns, Mem Ferda has been gearing up for his next lead offering in Gunfather.

Mem Ferda had this to say about Gunfather, the film’s script, and its focus: “The script is crafted with such authentic detail, and a unaffectedly unique style, I’m very confident it will place GUNFATHER up there with the best of the genre. I’m excited to be bringing a revenge tragedy that puts characters front and centre, unlike effects-driven movies where sometimes the human dynamics are lost.”

Joining Neil Jones in bringing Gunfather to life will be cinematographer Edward Ames, composer Phillip Curran, and casting head Kate Plantin.

Gunfather currently has no U.S. or U.K. theater release date yet.
